Borgarfjörður Excursion - Saga and Nature

West Iceland has long been a favorite for its diverse nature, rich fauna and living history and culture. Easily reachable from Reykjavík via a 6 km tunnel under Hvalfjörður (“Whale fjord”), West Iceland is a showcase of lava formations, geothermal activity and history. Highlights of this trip include Borgarnes, Reykholt, Hraun- and Barnafossar waterfalls, Hallmundarhraun and Deildartunguhver, the largest hot spring in the Northern Hemisphere. The trip will conclude with a tour of Hvalfjörður “Whale Fjord”, one of the deepest and longest fjords in Iceland.
