The Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture has annually awarded a limited number of scholarships to international students coming to Iceland to study Icelandic for Foreign Students at the University of Iceland. Once a year the Ministry decides the countries where these scholarships are made available, and requests the Ministry of Culture and Education in each of the recipient countries to select a candidate for the award.
